Retailer Sustainability Standards: A Top line Comparison

2019 Future Fabrics Expo
2019 Future Fabrics Expo was the 8th edition of the event

Every year at the end of January, the Future Fabrics Expo opens its door. And also this year this is the case: For 2 days, from January 24th to 25th 2019, the show case will in its 8th edition – and for the first time in the basement of Victoria House in central London, feature:

  • Over 5000 commercially-available fabrics and materials with a reduced environmental impact.
  • A Seminar Programme series running alongside the expo, featuring speakers from some of the most influential organisations in sustainable textiles and fashion.
  • Best-practice core exhibitors and manufacturers with individual booths.
  • Innovation Hub, including a collaboration with Fashion for Good-Plug and Play Accelerator Programme.
  • Two curated areas dedicated to fashion brands who are integrating sustainability at the core of their businesses (one supported by Lenzing Group and one curated by Arizona Muse x RCM Studio).
  • Educational background information and sustainability criteria displayed alongside all materials.
  • Information zone featuring industry partners such as GOTS and Fashion Revolution.
  • Hangout areas including a plant-based café and bookstore.

Given the recent developments in the retail space, Shirahime and the Future Fabrics Expo have collaborated in creating the display information for visitors on sustainability standards and requirements by retailers, which will increasingly act as an entrance hurdle to be sold via their stores and platforms.
